                                                             '' The Forgotten One ''

Why does know one pause at my grave.  After all i too was brave

They pass me by and kneel and pray at a near by grave or accross the way

I also fought for what was right and here i lie day and night

Is there a reason they pass me by?  If there is please tell me why

I turned away with puzzled mind the answer to his words to find

Then i looked upon the stone a gallant soldier name unknown

So remember if you pass his way.  Pause a while and chat and pray.

'' The Gallant Gentlemen of Arnhem ''

When the war was over and honors name secured

And bombs and guns forgotten with dangers past endured

Remeber the men of Arnhem and look into the sky

Through which the men of Arnhem passed on to fight and die

They died most gallent gentlemen for british land and loam

That we should live our freedom till the great one calls us home

So let us then remember with humbleness and pride

Those men who fought at Arnhem ..... for you they fought and died.

'' Airborne Ghost Army ''

The ghosts of all the airborne past come haunting back to me

In red berets and para smocks those heroes i can see

Although their features often blur obscured in mud and grime

or camoflaged in battle smoke amongst the mists of time

And high above the dropping zone i saw their spirits fly

A silken flock of para wings beat soft accross the sky

And as their gostly voices trailed behind them in the air

I swear i heard them faintly call

Aye! Airborne! Everywhere!

'' The First Division ''

I've got to go now i must die; But you i leave you must not cry

I go to a place i know not where; But i shall be in God's own care

One thing i ask before i leave; You who love me do not grieve

Tell the people who know not why; We fought this war and why to die

We fought to make the people free; To preserve the rights of humanity

tell the people old and young; To keep the peace when it is won

I must go but for you who stay; Rule the world the decent way

This must never come again; Or we who die will die in vain

So hold up your heads and do not cry

It is a great thing that i die.

The Airborne Prayer

May the defence of the most high be above and beneath.

Around and within us, in our going out and coming in

In our rising up and in our going down

Through all our days and all our nights

Until the dawn when the sun of righteousness

Shall arise with healing in his wings

For peoples of the world

Through Jesus Christ our lord

Amen.
