Once 'on site' and set up . Just Ordinary Men fully and faithfully enter into the spirit of the occasion. The unit's phylosophy, once deployed, is to live and work with complete historical accuracy for the duration of the event. A strict daily routine is put in place so that anyone 'passing our lines' will be looking through a window into the operational workings of a front line reconnaissance troop of World War Two.
To some. This may seem extreme however; we firmly believe that to do justice to our forebears and to portray the life of an Airborne soldier on active service it has to be done correctly. To do anything less, for us and our clients, would not be acceptable.
Deployment on a living history weekend entails the setting up of our field heqdquarters, complete with working wireless equipment. Dependant upon your brief and scenario; we undertake a variety of routines that would have taken place. Here are just a few :
Pay Parades
Operational Briefings
Weapons Training
Battle and Patrol Training
Tactics
Signals
Foot and Arms Drill
Medicals
Intelligence Gathering and Training
Defaulters and charges under Military Law
These can be done either as set displays at our location at times dictated by yourself or as an on going full living history walk through. Where the public, regardless of what time they pass, will see something taking place.
Dependant upon our allocated area and the event scenario; we are also able to provide the option of 'digging in' and setting up defensive or reconnaissance lines, whilst undertaking our operational tasks of patrolling and intelligence gathering. All done using the correct methods, drills and orders of the day.
