Training in the Safe Handling and Carrying of Weapons
Safety of the general public, fellow re-enactors and members is of paramount importance! To ensure this. All members are trained to the highest possible standard, by qualified staff, in the safe handling and use of weapons. Whether they be blank firers or deactivated; to us, all weapons should and will be treated with the respect they deserve.
We do not and will not tolerate the mis-handling of any weapon!

All members undertake an Annual Weapons Test to ensure they are competant in the carrying of a weapon. This is a very stringent test that consists twelve sections incorporating general weapons safety and handling, loading and unloading, making safe, awareness of surroundings, safety alarm and movement whilst carrying a weapon. Members must pass all componants of the test to be permitted to carry arms at displays or battles. Under NO circumstances do we allow members of the public to hold a weapon un-supervised and members are strictly instructed to keep a hold of weapons at all times. Regardless of the situation.
Suffice to say. members are rightly proud of the unit's safety record.
